Rappers with criminal records
Youssra ِِEl Hawary is an Egyptian accordionist, composer, songwriter, singer, and actress. Her Indiegogo campaign raises funds to record her band’s debut album. The star of her campaign page is her video. It showcases personal endorsements from a number of artists and personalities in her circle. Each testimony is honest, uplifting, and respectfully urgent.
Born in Altamura in 1795, Saverio Mercadante is considered one of Italy’s most overlooked masters. That fact is extremely hard to believe since he’s known to have written at least 58 operas!! During his life, he did quite well for himself, working in Austria, Spain, and Portugal, as well as in Italy.
To me, this is the real reason to do a cassette — all the incredible DIY options and customizable pieces. When I think of a band doing a DIY cassette, I think of them handwriting the album name on the cassette label, I imagine cute doodles on the case, I think of them writing a “To: Fan” “From: Your favorite band X” There are just SO many ways to customize this and put a real DIY feel to it that can skyrocket the connection you make with your fans.

Four years later, I was on my first-ever DIY tour with the original lineup of band whose name I need not mention — it was a rough, January midwest tour… Cold and unforgiving. We maintained sanity by cancelling two of our Ohio shows and hanging out in Chicago for a week, where Borey Shin (composer and keyboardist extraordinaire) bought a Morricone soundtrack called Giornata Nera Per L’Ariete, and that drove the final nail into the coffin, so to speak. There was a Russian website at the time where you could pirate every Morricone soundtrack for free, so I started doing my homework.
Some guitarists like the level of control and consistency you get with amp simulators, but a little bit of wild energy in the room from a live amp can go a long way in terms of inspiring a great performance. For example, out of a real amp, when I palm mute power chords, I can hear (and feel) a lot more low-end rumble on the initial attack. The decision to use amp simulators instead of a real amp is up to you. Try both, and see which one gives you the tone you’re happy with.

My biggest problem as a musician is really honing my artistry. Again, since I love so many different kinds of music, it can be difficult for me to strip away some of that influence for a while just to focus on one sound for an extended period of time.

Yesterday, we launched a new version of the app, the Theory aQWERTYon. It visualizes the notes you’re playing on the chromatic circle in real time. Click the image to try it! (Be sure to whitelist it on your ad blocker or it won’t work.)
We’ll return to the story of its eventual completion later, noting that at the time of his death Berg had already completed all the thematic compositional material for the opera. Lulu is famous for pushing the strictures of serialism to their limits. Serialism is one of the most important musical movements of the 20th century, and in brief it treats all 12 notes of the chromatic scale as possessing equal value and forbids any regression back to conventional tonality.
Similar to last year, songs lasting between 3:21-3:40 remain on top. The most improved category is the 2:41-3:00 song, increasing its presence sevenfold! And, as long as we’re talking songs and lengths of things, can we talk about Drake already? This is like the seventh paragraph and we still haven’t mentioned the length and breadth of Drake’s magnum double-album opus, Scorpion.
My next move was to warp out a human performance over my beats to hear what it would sound like. I tried both the Wasser and Poppen, and the Poppen sounded cooler. I did continual A/B comparisons with the MIDI version to line everything up by ear.
Narada Michael Walden, who produced “I Wanna Dance With Somebody,” once said that recording this song “was about trying to create the best possible record that will last for hundreds of years.” And that’s exactly what they got. It was a #1 hit when it was released in 1987, and over 30 years later, people still dance to this at weddings and sing their hearts out to it.
